Living Rooms
Upholstered cornices are a great way to use fabrics to add warmth, color and texture to your living and family rooms. Whether your room has an elegant feel or a casual and relaxed feel, Creative Cornices can add that finishing touch.

This 14' cornice was hung over a transom style window in a gorgeous family room. It was decorated using an upholstery fabric in a deep camel color that picks up the wall and carpet colors. A 15" drop was used.

Casual country plaid fabric is used to give just the right feeling to this cozy family room. The fabric is repeated in the throw pillows. The 15" drop was used even though the windows are very small, giving even more impact to the window treatments.

These cornice boards were decorated in a light aqua color and they really finish off this room well. The color is picked up again in the chair, throw pillows and accessories. Sheers with a geometric pattern add some extra texture and interest to the room.

If you have small windows to decorate or if you have beautiful woodwork that you don't want to cover, consider a cornice inside the window frame. The inside mount cornices in this living room were decorated with fabric from a store bought drapery panel. You do not need the end caps when doing an inside mount so you would purchase extension kits instead of cornice kits. Simple L- brackets from a hardware are used to hang the cornice.
